International Data Responsibility Conference 2017

Call for abstracts

The 3rd annual International Data Responsibility Conference will be held on March 3 2017. The goal of the conference is to connect a variety of stakeholders involved in the use of data for vulnerable populations in peace, justice and humanitarian action.

During the conference, 3 selected submissions will have the opportunity to showcase their work on a series of posters, which will be set up in a central location at the conference venue. The authors of 3 selected submissions will receive the opportunity to present their abstract in a plenary session, and they will be featured in the annual IDRG report. Finally, contributers may receive the opportunity to develop their papers further to contribute to a special edition of a leading journal in the field of international development or international affairs (TBD).

For abstracts to be considered, they must meet the following criteria:

  • Focus on the topic of data responsibility for vulnerable populations;
  • Present a new idea in this field;
  • Be clear and concise in their presentation;
  • Have a well defined argument;
  • Not exceed 300 words;
  • Be submitted before January 31 2017

Given the thematic focus for this year’s IDRG Conference, which is the European Migration Crisis, abstracts relating to this specific domain will receive preference.

Abstracts may be submitted to Ms. Amorós Lark [email protected], in pdf format.

Please submit your abstracts as a pdf file saved as (LAST NAME OF CORRESPONDING AUTHOR) - IDRG 2017.pdf. (For example: AMOROS – IDRG 2017.pdf).

We look forward to receiving your submissions.
